JUDr. PhDr. Michal Kočiš, PhD., LL.M.
Michal studied law at the Law Faculty of the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice. Subsequently, Michal completed a three-year doctoral study program at the Department of Financial and Tax Law of the same university, which he completed by defending his dissertation on "Taxation and tax evasion in the context of transfer pricing". Michal continued his postgraduate studies at the University of Florida, Levin College of Law, Florida, USA, after which he was awarded an LL.M. in International Tax Law.
In the past, Michal worked in leading international consulting companies and law firms in Slovakia. Michal is also intensively involved in the subject of tax law in the current practice of lawyers at KOČIŠ & PARTNERS, whereby he is the author of numerous professional articles and publications on transfer pricing and international taxation. These, as well as many other current legal topics, Michal presents at professional seminars and conferences for domestic and foreign business entities.
In 2018, Michal was nominated by the Slovak Ministry of Finance for the Slovak Republic as an independent transfer pricing expert for the application of the EU Arbitration Convention.
In addition to tax law, Michal specializes in financial law, corporate law, representation of clients before courts and administrative authorities, real estate law, medical law and personal data protection issues. Michal provides legal advice in both Slovak and English. Michal is sought by clients especially for his excellent analytical skills, reliability, expertise, flexibility and ability to consistently defend the client's interests.
As a lawyer, Michal is a member of the Slovak Bar Association.
Mgr. Juraj Kočiš LL.M.
Juraj studied law at the Faculty of Law of Comenius University in Bratislava. After graduating from Comenius University, Juraj studied at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich, Germany where he acquired a postgraduate LL.M. degree in European and International Business Law. During his studies in Germany and after his graduation, Juraj completed internships in renowned international companies. In addition to the above, Juraj also attended several other professional study programs abroad.
After returning to Slovakia, Juraj worked for several years in leading international law firms, where he gained extensive experience in legal consulting for major domestic and foreign companies.
In his professional practice at KOČIŠ & PARTNERS, Juraj focuses mainly on corporate law, labor law, immigration law, competition law and representation of clients in litigation and administrative proceedings. Juraj is also intensively involved in lecturing. He presents current legal topics at professional seminars and conferences for domestic and foreign business entities. He is the author of numerous professional articles and publications. Juraj provides legal advice in Slovak, English and German.
